Model notes

Adapted from the ADCToolbox Analog panel. The twelve views follow exp_t01_aout_dashboard_single.py and generate_aout_dashboard. This browser model uses 4096 points, a known-frequency sine fit and simplified diagnostic plots; it is not a numerical reproduction of every Python analysis.

Fifteen illustrative impairments. The selector follows exp_t02_aout_dashboard_batch.py, with its principal settings at 100%. Code scale only converts a 1 V full-scale range to LSB units; it does not add a quantizer. The quantization case varies from 16 to 4 bits with severity (10 bits at 100%). Memory and residue-gain cases retain their own quantization, and settling retains its linear pole at 0%. Other cases include 10 µV rms × severity of background noise.

Phase and spectra. Both polar views show cosine phase φh − hφ1, with conjugation undone for a harmonic above Nyquist; radii are dBFS in the spectrum and dBc in decomposition. FFT plots use a rectangular window: noncoherent modulation and drift can spread over bins. The AM/PM readouts are a phase-dependent error-variance diagnostic, not a unique separation of all noise sources.

How to read it. A spectral line identifies periodic distortion; error by value exposes a static transfer curve; error by phase separates amplitude and timing effects; the PDF and autocorrelation show statistics and memory; the envelope spectrum isolates modulation; phase planes expose trajectories and rare escapes that are easy to miss in an FFT.
